Evaluation of the third year study programme of the Bachelor

The third year dives deeply into the topics. That was particularly noticeable in the first three courses. The course about the nervous system was supressed by the artificial intelligence course; the practicals of this course took a lot of time. The programming practicals were somewhat different; we had to program in logic instead of object-oriented programming, it took time to familiarize myself with this new way of programming.

 

The third course of this year was very good organised, thanks to the coordinator of the module. This was one of the best courses of the Bachelor Medical Informatics. The practicals give a clear insight into usage of Medical Informatical methods and techniques that could be used in practice. The additional questions of each practical formed a complete picture of the materials that had to be studied for the exam. I developed my programming skills even more during this course.

 

During this year I participated in a Spanish course; I have broaden my knowledge by following this course, futhermore I have learned a lot about the second world language. As a student it is important to have a broad vision of the world. I have no regrets that I have followed this course and I may put it in use, because Spanish becomes more and more important each day.

 

After the Christmas holidays I followed the Bio-Informatics course; the language of this course was English, that itself is a good case, because the Master Medical Informatics is also given in English. I thought it was more difficult to express myself in English, but it turned out better than expected. The course was not difficult and the workload might have been higher.

 

I had to follow an additional course, because I did not pass my exam of the Spanish course. I participated in the course History of Science; it was very interesting to talk about the development of science. How did several styles survive the ravages of time and how could some style emerge, sometimes a lot of luck was involved in how styles did survive.

 

The course about policy and management might have been more challenging, because it was not difficult at all. It might have something to do with the fact that it was the first year of the coordinator to organize this course. The coordinator promised to improve the organization of the course. The final course about strategic information management was very interesting and we had to do a lot, but I also learned a lot; I have improved my academic skills and I particularly a lot during the fifteenth course.
