Second year study programme
Course description
Evaluation
Evaluation of the second year study programme of the BachelorCourses of the second year thought us how to use several methods and techniques of Medical Informatics in practice; how to use it on problems that occur in healthcare practice. The emphasis of the second year was placed on integration themes, analyzing and solving concrete, informatical problems. The acquired knowledge was mainly applied in the last three courses of this year.
The internships of this year were very useful, because you gain experience in real world practice. The first thing you learn is that everything is different in practice than in theory. It was very useful to get in touch with the real world, I saw that there is a lot of work that could be done by Medical Informatics and a lot of processes do not go smoothly.
The last three courses were very labor intensive, but also very useful. I learned a lot during these three courses and many academic skills are combined in these courses; communication skills, independently studying materials, doing interviews, give oral presentations, project-based working and so on.
Not only during the last three courses I experienced a high workload, this was also the case in the first course; this course was not difficult, but the materials that we had to study were many. A lot of students did not pass this course; but when you took the time the course was doable, however it took some time for me to pass the mathematics exam.
I passed all the other courses the first time. I started early enough with learning the materials. Everytime I will try to improve myself with regard to the feedback I receive after presentations, reports and assignments.
