Evaluation

Evaluation of the course and assignments

This was the first course of the second semester. It was a relief that this course was not parallel to another course. For the first time it was possible to fully focus on a particular course. That does not mean that we could relax and slow down. We had to write a paper, a paper-based case had to be transformed to a computer-based case, an internship was followed, subsequently a report had to be written and last but not least an examination had to be passed.

The paper had to be written with another fellow student, which was judged by the supervisor. After the feedback you had a week to make some corrections regarding to the feedback received. The topic of our paper was the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) and in particular the judicial part.

The computer-based case was very interesting. The paper-based version had to be transformed in a computer-based one. We had to do the case ourselves first, because we could even transform it. This assignment was done with three other students and finally the case had to presented to other groups. These computer-based cases will be used in Medical Science class.

Furthermore an short introduction internship has been done in a general practitioners office. The goal of this internship is to get in touch with the real world, to see how medical processes are initiated, continued, stopped, restarted and completed. All findings had to be written in a report and information flows had to be mapped. These findings were also presented to the entire group of students.

The course lay-out was good and it was nice to follow a medical oriented course. The internship was very interesting. In this course there were no difficulties for me.
